Yeah tuning off of egt's is not the way to do things. lol. EGT's are just to let you know whats going on with your engine or that something potentially harmfull may happen, lol.

Several things can cause high egts, too much timing, lean fuel mixure, high backpressure (basicly letting you know your turbo setup is inefficent at the levels your trying to push it or inefficient period) cam changes can effect egt's as well.

No tuner tunes off of egt's again its only used to tell you whats going on.

900°C is typically the upper limit of a regular exhaust valve. Sodium filled like on the DET engines or inconel can get away with higher temps.

900°F is a joke.

It is. Ashton is confused. Don't pay him any attention.

Yah, that's how EGTs work. It is a good thing.

Yet before you said 900°F?

While it's not the best way to do things, it is at least marginally decent. It can't really be tuned for anywhere else but WOT this way but it should at least work.

This I absolutely, and completely disagree with. EGTs are one of the best ways (if not the best way) to tune timing. In my opinion you typically tune fuel mainly with Wideband O2 readings, and you typically tune ignition mainly with EGT readings.

98% BS.

Good reading guys. I feel sorry for Mekitch, it was my engine with GT cams and it worked great in my N/A P11 before i pull it out for SR20VE. I think AFR and overall tuning was the main issue. What you all thinks about 10w60 oil?

Btw. these engine are all 10:1 CR...
