Thread: bluebird out and avenir in

i spun a bearing in my bluebird cylinder three so i installed an avenir

the dipstick is about an inch shorter on the avenir it seems to take 4.5 quarts before full is this correct or is the the wrong dipstick

Nissan is confused. Even de's I've seen have different dip sticks! I just drain and fill with 4 qaurts. Then I check the dipstick. Wherever it sits is where full is.

also if you've ever had an oil pan off you'll notice there's a hole in the baffle the dipstick needs to go through, I've fixed a couple of these. usually the big sign this needs done is that your dipstick doesn't want to stay in or pops loose or whatever.. just bend the tip a little so its as straight as can be and usually it'll slide right in that hole in the baffle.

but yes i too have noticed several different dipsticks.
