I've never heard of back-to-back DE to VE head results. That is nice to have!

Plus what makes his setup better is the external gate that really helps rid the back pressure over that tiny little internal flapper baby hole.

I dynoed also a blk nx2000 it was a log manifold t-3 57mm turbo full de with bc cams made 394 whp and 337 tq
Slapped a Vvl head on that car (de head bent valves as he went back to second gear racing by accident) same boost and timing adjusted the fuel to match his old ratio and the car netted 426 whp 361tq.
I know a tubular manifold would work wonders but when I tell customers to buy a manifold in the neighborhood of 1000 plus all the refabing the downpipe and intercooler piping plus labor. For 50-75 hp gains they usually give me that blank look.Lol

That fmic is small. Looks oike he stopped fine tuning after 6k. Everything seems fine before then. Look oike real low timing to me, graph looks lazy.

The graph looks lazy because of the 3rd gear pull. 4th gear should boost a lot quicker. I do agree that the intercooler is a bit small. It will flow fine, but higher boost levels it won't rid the head well. 15psi should be ok though.

the IC piping is not much of a restriction, but anything you can do to improve efficiency will show up on the dyno.

The numbers aren't that bad though. I think with some tweaks you can see another 20-40whp increase. How does the engine feel when driving?

From what I've seen from similar builds around here, I don't really expect a ton of power. Nor do I expect to come even close to what others have made. I haven't been impressed with the T28 powered VVLs, though occasionally I see some pretty good numbers from some.

3rd gear pulls are fine on a small frame turbo

What are you tuning with?

intercooler is fine

this forum needs to stop regurgitating bullshit info especially if you arent out there actually testing and been around these setups

I picked up 40whp going external gate on my gt28rs at the same boost level.

Not every one is as crazy as I am and have a el externally gate t2 manifold.

No one should dyno in 3rd gear ever if they don't have to. 4th gear is our 1:1 ratio. I agree it is not going to be one of the main causes of the semi-poor results.
