Thread: Rwd screamer pipe on fwd

I just got this in the mail today. I already know im gonna have to modify it so it can clear my block and down pipe and such. I realized that my o2 sensor is bigger than the one on the screamer pipe has. Now i have a few questions. Could i get another o2 sensor that fits the 02 bung and wire it in? The next question is could i do without the stock o2 since im going with a wideband and will be running safc II. Application is 01 Sentra SE SR20DE. Thanks dan

My o2 senor that originally comes on my car will not fit the o2 bung on the screamer pipe. Could i get a o2 sensor that fits the bung on the pipe and wire it up? Or could i not run the stock o2 sensor at all and just use my wideband and tune with my safc II?

why in the hell is there an o2 bung on the screemer pipe?

the only thing i could see that bein good for is for wideband monitoring.. im not sure how that works, i mean if u use a screamer pipe its basicly a controlled exhaust leak so if its not plumbed back into the DP maybe the afr's the wideband in the dp get screwy?

aside from that i dont see any reason to put any of the stock o2 sensors in it..

Im assuming you screw your stock o2 sensor in there. Where else would u screw it in?

Im not sure on that part shouldnt make it screwy i have no idea.

If i dont put my stock o2 sensor back on wont that throw the computer out of whack considering thats a part that tells it when to give and not to give gas?

the only time the screamer pipe is used is when the wastegate is open.. so no point in any stock sensor bein in there.. thats what made me think wideband, or possibly egt sensor..

think about this, when you use a external gate with a screamer it takes the exhaust gases from the manifold and not from the back of the turbo like a IWG.

so what im wondering is would that effect the AFR reading to your wideband in your downpipe?

my external wastegate will be plumbed back into the downpipe before my wideband, so i dont think im going to have any issues because its almost like an internal wastegate in the fact that all the exhaust gases will be counted by the wideband, unlike a screamer where some of the gases just go to atmosphere

Well it does have a bung with some type of fitting in it not sure what that is?

Thought it wasn't a good idea to put the wideband sensor right after the outlet flange where it's at now since it would get extremely hot there. Thought it had to be so many inches from the turbo so that wouldnt happen? That's why i thought it was for the stock o2 sensor spot.

Yes I'm almost to the garage.

Jdm o2 are skinner. The factory o2 is locate on the jpipe.
