Thread: Sent my turbonetics to Gpop shop...now questions

I have a turbonetics t-27796 which is a to4b Super H compressor with a f1-54 turbine in a 63ar housing. Which all has been confirmed by turbonetics tech. shipped it off to gpop for a rebiuild, last guy trashed it worse than i thought, they told me it would be better to just replace the chra and it will be up to oem specs, which was fine with me bc it also needed a compressor wheel. Got it back and i have no idea what chra this thing has on it now and it def. does not have the f154 turbine...

I dont have a caliper to measure the compressor wheel to match it up with the specs on the super h wheel....






Anyone recognize the marking on the chra? I couldnt find any type of model or serial. I was under the impression they were replacing it with the exact turbonetics chra that was already on it...WTF?!?

thanks i emailed them sunday morning and have not heard back yet. i dont understand why they would replace it with another chra that wasnt "oem specs" and not even a turbonetics...Just baffles me.

You are right it is not that wheel, that is a proprietary big shaft wheel from Turbonetics that you have to get through them. Even if you can find one of those you can not find the Big shaft bearing housing or even more importantly the Big shaft compressor wheel. The turbine that you have is a Stage 2 and a very good performer. Realistically, we do not think that you could tell a difference in the two performance wise without a dyno, even then we do not know if there would be a difference. If you would like to send the turbo back to us, we would gladly remove the new CHRA for you and refund your full purchase price and send you back the old parts and you can start over. We do not have a option for you that includes that F1 wheel and we are sorry that we did not make that more clear to you. Let us know what you would like to do or if you have any other questions. i contacted turbonetics to see if they can get the right chra i need but im still at a loss at to what specs this chra is other than a "stage 2" If they didnt have the "option" to get the right chra i wish they would have let me know just to save headaches. I really would like to keep it completely turbonetics just because. what do you guys think?

i would run the shit out of it. guarantee your ass dyno wont feel the difference.

well, i'd find out the specs on the chra an the wheels an stuff, if they meet your criteria then give it a try, i bet it will perform nice.. but who knows, im a big newby with the turbos.

yea? im also thinking if i want to sell it what the hell do i tell people it is? i dont even know! is it still a to4b? compressor wheel? im sure yall see what im getting at...

like i said, i'd ask them to specify what exactly the chra an wheel are, or what they consider the turbo to be..
