The new precision turbos are not like the turbos you ran back in the day. They actually spool quick for the size. You can get a journal bearing 6262 for $900 brand new and you can get a BB 6262 for around the same price as a 3071R and they are air-cooled ( no water lines). The journal bearing 6262 turbo spools just as good as the BB from my personal experience and will out perform the 3071R by far. Why get a turbo that will be almost maxxed out at 400hp when you can get one that will be relaxed with less heat soak. Then later if you get the itch you can crank it up and hit 600hp with ease.
If stock motors last longer than built motors why do we even bother to build them.
Build your motor right and you won't have any problems. Keep it as simple as you can. From what you have listed, you are on the right track. You don't even need the N1 manifold and TB but if you already have it, you can use it.
