There is always a fan in front of the car but it is more directed at the radiator and turbo inlet than anything. There usually isn't enough flow to take care of everything, it certainly isn't quite comparable to a car being on the road.

AGAIN THIS IS A DRASTIC CASE, most of the time if placed near the ground it will be ok. But it is always something to take into consideration.

This is good to know as mine(mines lol) is running one off my tial 38mm . I might just extend to to dump under the trans

Yea why dont people just route the dump tube into the down pipe thats what I plan on doing. Isnt that a good idea?

For emissions reasons (with cat) and for noise levels, recirculating is a great idea. I do it that way too.

For cost reasons and MAX POWER! the dump method is preferred.

How would power suffer if the dump tube is correct length? It would go down into the downpipe under the oil pan area.

If it was far enough back it wouldn't cause as much of an issue.

Physics?

I didn't say it was a big difference, but you're taking a stream of exhaust that used to have it's own pipe to travel in, and instead of just dumping it you're forcing it to merge with another stream of exhaust in another pipe. That really never works out to being more efficient. JKTUNING is right, the farther back you merge things, the less noticeable the loss of power. You can also do a real good job of merging them to mitigate the loss. We're talking about maybe 1% power loss or so. Not much.

Now all we need are some pics of how people would go about doing this. I'm sure there will be different setups of course, but this is a great thread. +rep.

Re-circ pics like these? Or did you want "good" dump pics?
