That and install. Did they re-use the clips or TOB? Did they prep the flywheel or get it machined like you are supposed to? Was all the stuff properly torqued? Did the cable get replaced or was the old streched one used again? I think a good clean install goes a long way toward clutch life.

Sure you can get bad batches or production runs can be poorly controlled but every few years I see threads about this or that clutch.
About 5-6 years ago it was spec clutches that all the fwd SR20 guys were shitting on. ACT seems to be taking their turn now.

I know my JGY clutch is total crap but I didn't choose or install it.

agree

never had an issue with act, my pressure plate was used and the disk i bought new 5 years ago, still in mint condition, i always resurfaced teh flywheel, always make sure the tob was greesed and installed properly and that everything was in working order always use the dowel pins and the spacer, VERY important

ive had it since i was at 300hp, and now god knows how much i am making but its alot more than 300 and its holding up great. above 25 26psi on sticky tires it will slip a bit but i think thats just me exceeding the torque capacity of the pressure plate

I sold my car, but I'm gonna have my friend try one of those FX500's; should be comparable to the 6 puck unsprung act w/xtreme plate but for a lot less.

On my 10:1 I/H/E car I run a B15 se disc with a ACT PP and never had a problem with the PP ran it for years, and on my turbo car I run a 6 puck sprung with a HD PP with a JWT flywheel and dont have a problem! maybe it is the installer I install all my shit so I don't know.......
