Altima's and p10's both use a 36mm axle nut, this I know for a fact.

looks good but i have a question what do these come out of and where can you get one at and what power level do they hold. thanks

Yeah it looks like P10/11 hubs and altima 4 lug hubs are the same. I've already ordered a set of Altima axles so once they arrive I'll do a side by side comparison. If the axles are compatible it looks like the next obstacle would be the axle carrier bracket. This may have to be a custom fab piece...


These are found in SR20 Bluebirds and I believe B15 Sunnys. I don't know where you can source these as they don't seem to be very common. I can't comment on the power level but what I do know is that they dwarf the 32 series boxes in comparison and from the outside the casing is much thicker. I've also read the internals are identical to GTI-R trannys.

I had a chance to compare the Altima axles to some G20 axles I had lying around:

Driver's Side Axles:
Top is G20 (LSD) and Bottom is Altima (LSD)






Passenger Side Axles:
Top is Altima (LSD) and Bottom is G20 (LSD)


This photo shows a G20 axle carrier (non-LSD?) installed on the Altima axle. The G20 axle on the bottom has a LSD bracket installed.

The axles outer joints DO fit G20 hubs and the splines are identical. I have most the parts to complete the swap, just looking for a P11 clutch master and pedal. Anyone have these laying around?

Your best bet is to make a spacer for the carrier bracket on the passenger side.

I have a GTI-r clutch pedal and master cylinder with reservoir that you can use for this swap.

hmmm seems like a simple solution, just need to get a good measure of how much space needs to be taken up.



Don't think this will work, there is almost zero clearance between the firewall and shock towers on a p-chassis, that's why the P11 master cylinder is a somewhat unique design. It actually installs from the vehicle interior side. Thanks for the offer though.

Just bolt the 50v to a block, bolt the carrier bracket to block and insert the axle into the trans. There you will see how thick the spacer will need to be.

The 32v and the 50v are only 5-8lbs apart in weight with no mounts on them.

I have a bare block that I can test fit with, as soon as I can get time to stop by the shop I'll bolt it all up and put some calipers to it and report back, to be continued...



I didn't realize they were that close. Looking at the two side by side the 50V definately looks beefier thats for sure.
