Thread: VE and Log Manifolds

Looking over Coheed's VE-T Twin Scroll setup thread, I saw this post.

Looking at the head side of the manifold, you will see some head port marks. Basically it doesn't look like the manifold was aligned to the VE ports perfectly, thus it was an air restriction wall right at the ports.




This could explain why Coheed had issues with a log and VE. Now Coheed was running the newer log, and I would assume his is also VE flanged (Since all of my DET flanges sit lower then the exhaust ports).

That would explain a lot. I ported my stock pulsar manifold to match my VE head when I was running the T28 and made really good power. Every VE I do with a log manifold I port it out and they run good.

I dremel ported mine out, which is not too great on steel, but it shouldn't have been nearly as bad as what Coheed's looks like.

My manifold wall appeared to be far smaller.

Looks like RR or VE distributor. Built-in coil. 50mm CAS disc.

That's actually a 98-99 Lowport one. The plug hits the VVL solenoids = pain in the neck.

My bad. I knew there was a distributor with a built-in coil before the RR head. Now I know which one.

That Rr looks like a b14 dizzy with the bottom ear rotated to the top

How did Coheed get his hands on VET cams?!

I'm not a big fan of the log manifold myself, what about using a ported (if necessary) gti-r manifold? How hard would it be to get the VET manifold?

True. Everybody does this, at least I thought they did.
