yep, build your motor up for a little higher rpm capability and big turbo it all you want.

Yep, learned that a long time ago. Going to bigger turbos was the best decision I ever made. Soo much more reliability at 400+whp than doing that same thing with a 2871. Not to mention that low end torque from the 2871 is not very nice on our transmissions. Moving the torque up and power up in the band seems to be much nicer on the transmissions.

I wanna try and do a big turbo build after this summer. Just sittin back and watching you guys do it and see how it works.

Yep, just dont have too much fun with it. You may never want to go back to all motor I tried to go ve and it just want the same and kinda glad I floated the valves into the pistons. If I hadnt my car might have still been all motor. I was like well, back to turbo.

Only thing I see wrong with the guys setup is that it looks like hes still using a log manifold with it. Definitely need to get a tubular manifold to make the best of it. With that size of turbo a tubular vs log is a huge huge difference.

My precision smoked once pretty bad. I thought the motor had rings going bad. When the car sat in my work parking lot and I started it, it was smoking bad. Burning oil.

I drove around for a little while and it smoked every time I went into boost for about 10 minutes. It hasn't smoked since. But man... it is a little concerning. The turbo has only 4k miles on it. My Garrett never did that. Sigh. Whatever... the car is fast as all hell. lol

That sounds like a precision. Some last forever, others just smoke right from the get go. But they do make some power. lol

well this is a hurricane 72mm and .81ar exhaust my previous turbo was a warner
67mm with a 96 ar housing the motor does have a decent head on it brian crower springs and retainers and jwt s4 cams. only thing is im running a jwt program i wish i could get ahold of a calumn real time. i know the log manifold is holding up alot of hp but before i get into a nice mani i want to replace the suspension with something decent my stock struts are blown

Get rid of the BC S2's and go S3's. You'll thank me later.

Oh no, they are very good turbos, one of the best. Just that when pushed real hard they smoke, just like any other turbo.
