Thread: Aquamist HFS-4

Hey guys,

I'm not a frequent user of these forums however I do browse from time to time. I'm currently looking at water-meth kits and thought this would be the appropriate place to post this as it is more useful for forced induction applications. Also, water meth seems to be a system used more in the US than anywhere else.

The Aquamist HFS-4 was released just a few days ago. Has some new features like variable bias between injector duty cycle signal and map sensor signal, and being able to hook it into Di related signals as well. See picture below.

Those of you who have knowledge on this topic, what do you think?

I know Aquamist systems atomize the water unlike the cheap systems which just squirt droplets that bog down the engine.

I've heard of Aquamist systems 1 and 2 and that's about it.

Since you brought it up, what do YOU think?

I wouldnt buy the aquamist stuff when there are cheaper options available (im saying this a cheap sentra owner)

All those features are nice but using the simple effective kits recently it has worked wonders on all of my motors

^^^ I'm all for a cheap price but don't want something that's second cousin to a converted windshield washer pump.

So which of the systems you've tried would you recommend as most efficient?

a pumps a pump in my eyes and can install a fail safe gauge inline to make sure the components are working properly together.

i think the op was just some cat trying to advertise the system anyways...hence him not responding yet.

Thanks for the link, this seems like a good price on a basic system. What I like is that it's not all cheap plastic parts that end up splitting and leaking.

Aquamist's new systems are way over kill. Their old system 2c was sophisticated enough for this forum.

Apologies for the delay guys. I have been away for part of the weekend.

First of all, let me start of by saying again: I am in the market for a water meth kit and like most people, like to research the hell out of everything before I commit to a purchase. After many hours of reading it seems that these kits offer the most advanced features.

As the HFS-4 is a new kit, yes, I guess you could call it marketing, however I mainly wanted to see if anyone else has used these in the past on SR20s and what sort of results they achieved.

From what I've read and my own (limited) technical knowledge of how some of these systems work, it seems that this system will offer the best flow proportionally to duty cycle / boost pressure. However I guess what it comes down to is the cost vs. benefit ratio. If the benefits of water/meth injection can be had from just dumping in alot of the mixure and a constant rate then so be it. This is why I am asking for personal experience.

I don't see the need for variable flow on both of those settings. But if you want to get that fine tuned then go for it.

On the other kits, I run McMaster-Carr nozzles and run a ShurFlo pump to get 100-120PSI and verify atomization. You can also buy the nozzles from Aquamist and use your own stuff to hook them up to save money.
