Tps reading .5 closed but onky 3.5 wot?!?!
Like title said I had tps issues on my Det+ve setup so I got a vvl tps. New tps reads perfect on closed but only in the mid 3s for WOT. Wat can a low WOT reading do...cause the car to go a little slower at WOT? Thanks in advance

There are a couple ways to adjust the tps, You can move it to where tab is more towards the center of the TPS reducing the throw distance which will increase the voltage when WOT. You just need to mess with it while having a multimeter on the signal wire until its set correctly. Should be between .45-.48 closed and right at 4 volts WOT.

That's my issue. It's reading that closed but on only mid 3s at wot. If I adjust to make wot at 4 then my closed will jump to 1v reading.....

Like i said, gotta move the contact point closer to center so that the throw of the arm on the tps is shortened meaning the same movement from the throttle means more throw on the tps arm. Are you fully opening the throttle by hand or are you using the pedal?

doesnt seem right unless the tps is bad or the ground is bad. Do you have a full 5 volts coming in?

In all my years of working on sr's Ive seen 1 tps go bad and it was on my buddies nx2k. It cause a ton of issues with idle, acceleration, cruising, just ran like crap. The signal was cutting in and out and had gaps in it. Replaced it and set it and all issues went away.

Make sure you have a full 5 volts coming in. If so and you cant get it to adjust right, try another one if you have one around.

200sx Se are you OBD1 or two? OBD1 requires your car to be running otherwise your results will be lower then what they really are.

Also Low port throttle bodies only let you adjust the closed v, not the WOT open V.

Another thing with newer 98+ cars is, extra load on TPS power signal. This is why you need to unplug a few items as per JWT instructions.
