Thread: Running rich bad?

My car is running on the rich side. I just installed a AEM wideband last night and when I'm cruising at a steady rpm it's running between high 12's and medium 13's sometimes it'll jump to the 11's or 14's for just a second. At full throttle its pretty much reading about 11-11.5....this is my first turbo car so I was just wondering if this is damaging the car at all? My friend told me that since I just got a blitz boost controller and new injectors (not installed yet) that after I install them I need to get it re-tuned. I'm kinda having trouble finding a shop that can tune my haltech though (why I haven't installed them yet). I just don't want to damage the engine in the mean time. Thoughts? Running rich wont ruin your engine, matter fact its safer to run rich than lean due to detonation.
and in turbo cars you want the ARF to be on the richer side bc exhast gases still burning leaving the engine causes the exducer (exhast turbine) to spin more rapidly due to the heat and velocity over leaner cooler exhasst gases.
u will need a re tune if u change anything on your current set up.

it will teach u everything u need to know about turbo charged engines and components that make the up. As well as safty parameters and ideal AFR ect.

Leaner exhaust gases are not cooler. Lean is hot! Thus the detonation.

Your AFR's are ideal for a turbo car. Thats where you want them. You will need to get another tune for the new injectors.
