Activating VVL for boost
so im getting pretty near to completing the current phase of my project and im wondering what is a good point to activate vvl with stock cams?

not sure if it matters but i'll be using a GT2871R .86 housing and a gti-r manifold with an external wastegate.

i wanna be like..

Hehe.

Serious guys, I've read anywhere between 3800 and 4800.

Are you activating the cams independently? If so you can try activating the exhaust cam a little earlier to gain a little quicker spool up from what I have seen. Maybe 300 rpms difference. Say 4100 or 4200 for the intake & 3800 for the exhaust. I have seen 4500 intake & 4200 exhaust work well on two setups. Only real way to tell is going to be on the dyno but the butt dyno will give you an idea. Keep an eye on the boost gauge if you can when you try switching lower. I know it is hard to do while on the street so hopefully you could data log until the dyno?

Cool let us know your results. I'm finishing my build here in just a couple weeks as well, but am switching my cams independently.
