Thread: compressor housing swaps- pics

hey quick ? is there any gains in trying different compressor covers for example taking a gt 3071r cover and fitting it to a t25 or t28 thought jus popped up while scrapping my busted t28

Not Compressor Housings , Turbine Housings will make a difference of course allowing more flow , Think of that Though better and hard. Go to Turbobygarrett.com tech section and have a read.

There are gains to be had by swapping compressor housings. It depends on the turbo and which wheel it has. Its very common to swap the gtir housing for the gt28r. You also have to take into account the a/r on both housings in question. I swapped the housing on my 3071r to the larger 4" inlet with the anti surge option. In my case I did this to push the surge line out for safety reasons.

Like swapping a s14 t28 onto a gtir t28.

i have a 4'' hks cover its equal to the gt3076r i think was thinking of trying it on a t25 or t28 jus to see if it would change the spool of the turbo or boost capacity

I'd be interested to see what pros/cons that yields.
