to replace the water pump you only need to remove the belts then pull off the pump. make sure to clean off all the rtv before applying the new rtv for the new pump. space will be tight but it can be done with off set box wrenches.

Ok, and the RTV should be placed where in the pump ? I haven't done a water pump before.

Even hondas you dont have to take the head off to replace the water pump. You have to take the timing belt off because its driven by the timing belt on the b series, d series, h series, and f series motors. But no our water pumps are driven off the regular drive belts. You will need to remove the water pump power steering belt, remove the tensioner bracket for the power steering pump being its mouted on the water pump using two of the bolts. then remove the pump.

Best way to do it with the motor in the car is remove the passenger side engine mount and jack the engine up as far as you can to give you more access to it. After that there is plenty of room.

Yeah, worst part is trying to get the stupid thing back on without smeering the silicon all over the place. A 3/8 drive wratchet with deep 12mm socket is perfect for the job. Gives you clearance from the motor to the frame rail and can use your finger to remove the bolts with the socket once loose.
