Tubular Manifold Build
Started building the turbo manifold for the VET.
Stainless Steel sch10 weld El's, T3, and BOV flange. Mild Steel head flange, SS ones where way too expensive.
Started looking for the best location for this. Moving it as far right as possible so that the down pipe clears the A/C.
I'm using a RWD DET manifold flange. First the studs didn't let the flange through.
Used a 1/2" drill bit
Fits perfectly
With my luck the flange didn't come threaded, had to get bolts and weld them on. SS bolts are not cheap .
Don't mind my crappy looking welds. I'm still learning and since there is not much room to play with, the welds got a little flooded. I plan on grinding them down a bit.
Next fun part is getting the exhaust flange to align with the runners. VE runners sit a lot higher. FWD flanges started accounting for this, but it doesn't look like RWD ones did.
This is a huge restriction.
Traced them... that's a ton of metal to remove
I had to taper them, otherwise the SCH10 pipes would be too small to fit right.

Head side:
Much better
Tomorrow will start cutting the sch10 weld el's and mocking everything up.
