Better because it's easier to change it without getting yourself, the axle, PS line, and some of the down pipe, covered with oil. Also if you ever tried to change the orings on the new location one while it's on the car, good luck getting the screws in! I spent about an hour trying to get them in, gave up and went back to the lowport style housing.

Eh thats what brake cleaner is for. On mine i dont have to get under the car to remove the filter. I can do it from the top because i have no power steering pump in the way. Just clean up the oil when done and whalla. Even when you got to do it from below, just stay out of the way of it and its no big deal. Spray it down with brake cleaner when done and good as new.

I should seriously buy stock in Autozone brand brake cleaner. I think over the past 4 years ive spent at least a grand on just brake cleaner on all the jobs ive done and for my own car.

Yes that motor is a VET out of a X-trail.

Im using the (73mm I.D.) throttle body as recommended by then. I asked about going bigger and was told i didnt need it.

Xcessive is junk...go to Ross Machine Racing, all you need is there...i buikt one yesrs ago but would do it different now...med sized plenum, large TB, velocity stacks, large diameter runners tapering down to the head inlet diameter, would be a very ideal setup for a turbo car

My runners, v-stacks, and plenum are in the mail...can't wait.

Is everyone running 90mm on their throttle bodies? I was thinking about sticking around 70mm

not sure what kind of hp your looking to make.

70mm should be good for like 700whp. 90mm should be good for 1000whp plus.

my crazy ass has a 90mm tb on a ve lol.

stratton.

A 90mm tb is too small for a proper manifold for even a 2.0L NA VE.

On a turbo car it is not as important.

You can know that on an n/a car if it goes into vac at any given point which usually is higher rpm. Then you know you have a restriction at either the TB or intake tract.
