I feel there is no reason to rev it any higher.

Why are people so caught up on RPM's?

Very nice. Surprised I didn't see this thread sooner. Good to see some sr's trapping 140+!

More rpm = more powerband. This is the issue I had with my DE, if you spin at all and shift too early your flat back out of the powerband and bog. The longer you can make your powerband in drag racing the better off you are. My powerband with the DE and t67 h.o looked exactly like that. Boost came in hard at 6k and just skyrocketed up to peak by around 6200-6300 then held out to 8200-8400 where he let off. 2k rpm of powerband is alright again if you have no spinning issues and hit your shifts perfectly. But since i spun and shifted too soon instead of riding it out i would fall back down to 5k-5500 in the next gear and have a second or so of bogging until I got back to 6k or so. With my setup in the works im trying to get a powerband from 6k to 9500-10k. Thats enough to where if I do spin and shift too soon ill still fall right back in the fat part of the powerband. But I am on a 2.0L stock stroke and bore so reving up that high is fairly easy.

I believe this is a stroker motor am I correct? If so it might be difficult or unsafe for the motor to rev it out much more than what they did. Ill let mazworx chime back in on that.

guess it bogged because you were afraid to hammer the tranny

now that it has broken, which is a good thing, you will now be getting some 1.4 and 1.5

peace

Maybe closer to 950+ ish

And by looking at the graph, it looks like even though the horsepower tapered off in the later range, 1000 more revs would probably still need some power (or atleast a good flat line of hp for the last 1000 revs). Even with the stroker, were you guys planning on revving to 9K or so which seems to be common place for these 2000-2200cc turbo drag engines??

That bog probably didnt help in keeping the gearbox casing in one piece either

P.S. Video of gearbox exploding or it didn't happen
