That is not a VVL motor , its a Roller rocker motor, like the P11s in the states and sentra 2.0 2000-01

roller rocker more common newer less power valve cover looks like ve with no oil catch can

ve comes with plaque on valve cover don't get your hopes up

bottom line roller rocker and lowport 10"1 are probably interchangeable as far importers are concerned so don't even get your hopes up there.

yes it is interhangable but you have to swap over your stock intake manifold,
It makes the same power but claims 145hp , from the factory.

I have a Roller rocker turbo with a T28 and it holds up excellent.
Bad is that you are limited on cams options on these motors but all in all they are a good old SR20.

Just to throw some more confusion into this... some of the later UK 10:1 motors are roller rocker style. I think starting in 1996. I spent some time researching these for my turbo project.

The second picture is a regular RR motor. The intake manifold is shaped slightly different from a VE IM. Also the VE has a smooth shield on the ex mani and the RR has those squarish depressions. That way you can tell from the pics even if they swap the VC and you cant see the solenoids.

But to clarify the original point. I believe all regular DETs (U12 U13 W10 W11) are highport heads.

edit; I've seen those guys send people some of the worst engines.

They are hit and miss. I know three people who they gave trashed motors. Blown head gasket, bad rings and a blown turbo. Other people have had good results but I'd rather pay more for a gauranteed runner.
