Thread: gtir timing issues

Hey guys the gtir has been hibernating and were going to take it to the track soon
List of mods
Gtir
T3t4
Protech shorty manifold
750cc rc inj
Z32 maf
Front mount
Nismo fpr
Tial waste gate with 9 pound spring
Boost is at 15 psi
Jwt ecu

Problems
Vacumm is 7-8 (haven't done comp test but the day before turbo upgrade it was 17-19 with stock turbo dropped instantly after upgrade )

Back fires on deaccel

As far as timing having a hard time setting it with the crappy idle any suggestions

Trying to figure out the vaccumm prob made a boost leak tester filled it up 29 psi no leaks most up the piping is welded

Things I will be doing this week

Getting both front and back O2 bungs welded on my 3 inch piping and installing them
Making a new welded intake with nipple for bov recirculation and changing spark plugs

have u verified that the tps is properly set? what is the car idling at? when adjusting timing, are you properly getting the car into "timing mode"?

tps brand new and voltage within spec, yes on timing mode and idle fluctuates from 800 to 1200 slowly

Any body have suggestions on setting timing on gti-r?
