I am running a Greddy Type S which appears to leak at idle but I read thats kinda common but closes when given any throttle.. Ive been battling an issue with my idle but covering up the leak or not does not change the idle so I dont think this will effect much.

My first bov was a 1g dsm, never had a problem with it. They're cheap and they work (~$50 new). Pretty fast open/close response. Like most push-type valves they do stay open at idle, so I'd recommend you recirc.

Don't buy a Greddy knockoff unless you plan on putting some work into it. The diaphragm is often a taut sheet of rubber with no free travel. Also the cast aluminum body is particularly weak just beneath the flange to the top hat, where the walls go very thin. Having said that, these can work pretty well IF you replace the rubber diaphragm with a genuine Greddy ($$), or make your own out of a GM master cylinder gasket.

Right now I'm using an HKS Racing DV because I wanted something unbreakable, un-bling, and uncommon.

Had the "eBay" greddy type s knock off and had leaking issues then replaced the diaphragm but two screws broke in the aluminum housing so I just bought a used "real" greddy type rs and set it as a blow threw and problem solved ! It was easy to set up and adjust and sounds nice too ! My old rx-7 had a hks and like others said its too high pitched whistle sounding I disnt mind it too much as the rotory was loud enough on a 3" dump pipe and no exhaust lol. Greddy bov's used can be had for $80-100 so check eBay or Craigslist .

BTW if your in the market for a bov you can have my knock off greddy type s for $20 shipped as its fixed now .
