spraying nitrous on fmic's was pretty big for awhile.......don't think you'll see enough heat soak to justify that tho...LOL

The water spray is also used for daily driving to resolve heat soak issues. My wrx has the stock top mount and in stop and go traffic suffers from heat soak which usually is no big deal until you go into boost and you get the "half a$$" boost feeling. if you mix the water with rubbing alcohol it allows for the heat to evaporate with the liquid a lot quicker cooling the intercooler. It works. I use it at lap battles mainly as when i am at the drags i usually just pop ice on the top mount. sorry FMIC guys but you can still spray. just make sure you go to lowes or home depot and get a nozzle that will "mist" the water giving you better coverage instead of just putting the line there..

I bought some garden line from the hardware store. Reruted the washer nozzle line and viola! as for the gains? who knows if there is any? Maybe if its a super hot day and you fill the washer bottle with ice cubes, it might beneifit, lol.

Top mount vs front mount, big difference. I think the biggest advantage of the front mount is it's the first to get cool outside air, then second advantage is it's outside of the engine bay.

what i would do is hook the windshield washer thing up to some cam oiler tubes (after i slightly mod them) and then position them so they spray the front of the intercooler..
if the intercooler gets fairly warm i think it would help... but if not an it stays fairly cool it would prolly be a waste of time and effort.
the staging lanes are fairly long here so theres alot of turning the car on moving forward, shut it off an so on.. im just tryin to fight possible heat soaking.. i guess we'll see what happens when the time comes, thanks guys
just buy a better intercooler and call it a day... my spearco doesn't get hot ever even after various passes
i didn't see it mentioned, but some tracks do not allow water spray on intercoolers due to puddles on the track. be sure to check to make sure your local track allows it before you go that route.
