So You Want to Go Turbo? Parts and Price List
So you want to go turbo? Here is the parts list and approximate cost to get your car running with a T25 or GTIR T28.

If you go the SR20DET route:
$900 SR20DET with Turbo (T25, Manifold, Injectors)
$50 - New fuel rail (yours will be bent)
$0-100 - Replacing the dented oil pan, can some times beat it out
Approx Total: $1,050

If you turbocharge your current SR20DE (will be SR20DE+T from now on).
$250-$400 - T25 Turbo, Manifold, Jpipe, Oil & Water Lines, 370cc Injectors
$50 - 45/64" Drill Bit, 1/2npt Tap, 1/2NPT thread to barb fitting. You might need a new drill to fit the 1/2" shank of the drill bit!
$150 - Oil and Water Lines
Approx Total: $600

Parts that you will need
$50-150 - Blow Off Valve
$100 - New Seals, Spark Plug Wires, Distro Cap, Rotor, BKR7E spark plugs
$100-200 - Downpipe for turbo
$200-400 - 2.5" to 3" exhaust
$100 - Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
$100 - FMIC
$100 - Intercooler Piping
$100 - Couplers, t-bolt clamps, etc.
$100-$550 - ECU: NismoTronic & Nemu, Calum Basic, Calum Real Time, Nistune, oem SR20DET
$55 - Prothane Motor Mounts (or you will have major wheel hop that kills our transmissions). This price is with the forum discount
$300 - Clutch/Pressure plate/throwout bearing
$0-100 - MAF (OEM maf good for 250whp).
$100 - New fluids, Engine Oil, Coolant, GL4 Gear Oil ($10 per bottle usually), Power steering fluid.
$100 - New Brakes, would be stupid not to upgrade your brakes with so much more horsepower.
$100-$300 - Gauges: Boost, Oil PSI, Wideband
$200 - New Quality Slim Fans (SPAL), unless you can squeeze stock fans in!
Approx Total: $2,370 with Basic $100 ECU
Approx Total: $2,820 with Real Time/Nemu ECU

Grand Totals with the Basic ECU:
Grand Total for a SR20DET: $3,420
Grand Total for a SR20DE+T: $2,820

Approx WHP: 170-200whp @ 7 psi

Labor: Priceless

Other Upgrades
Drop in Turbo Upgrade
$400 - GTiR T28
$0-100 - T28 Jpipe, you can modify your T25 one to work!
$200 - T28 Downpipe, not required if you have T25 downpipe and Jpipe
Approx Total: $700

$500 - $1,000 - New suspension is highly suggested, stiffer suspension can help overcome wheel hop too.

Remember oil and coolant lines can add up to some coin on the DE+T. For all four, typically you are looking at around $150 or so, depending on what kind/quality of lines you run.

And clutches cost a lot. If you want to hold the power of 200whp, you gotta have a decent clutch.

Going fast isn't cheap. But for the money, you get a ton of bang for your buck. Its just not as easy as buying a ready-to-go kit.

Yeah thats if you want a really flawless setup too. Try to get most of your stuff used and you can cut down on costs quite a bit. Also helps if you can run open downpipe as well.

A setup i did in my buddies se-r with A/C

JDM DE $475 shipped (already had the drill and tap to do the drain and engine was very clean and without leaks, no need to replace any seals, water pump or any of that)
T25 turbo w/ manifold, wastegate and j-pipe $200
Ebay intercooler and piping kit w/ T-bolt clamps and reinforced couplers $200
Ebay bov w/ adapter pipe $40
Calum Ecu $110
Boost gauge used $20
Fluids for engine swap and trans, power steering, vac hose, coolant $100
370cc injectors $75
Gofast depot feed line $60

Thats $1280 bucks

Car was on stock suspension and stock clutch running 7 lbs. Put about 10k miles on it of pretty hard abuse before the stock clutch finally gave. Found a used act clutch for $200 bucks w/ street strip disk.

So $1480

So technically if you search around you can do a basic setup for pretty cheap that will run 13's all day long in a b13 full interior. Just gotta find deals. The car was sold to a local Marine and he blew the motor about 6 months later due to the wastegate diaphram cracking and boost went to 20+ lbs. Not much you could do about that. The kid was dumb and knew it was happening and still kept beating on it.
