its 85w140 btw, Valvoline conventional in a white bottle with the white/blue/red valvoline label. I think you can get it in Synthetic or Synthetic Blend but the conventional is just fine.
Again yes over a long period of time and use, it "might" put some wear on the syncros. But again who cares really. If you have to replace a trans 10 years down the road or replace cyncros. Again not a big deal and they are making a bigger deal out of it than it really is.
Just use it, lol.
I did quite a bit more research on the subject, and it´s a fact that it does corroed metals do to suplhur EP contents on the gl5 type stuff... but there´s compatible stuff on the market, synthetic and sulphur free and etc...
In fact of all the reading i´ve yet to see 1 gearbox failing directly related to gl5 oil, i´ve read 2 cases(vw´s) that found smal particles, yellowish, like dust on the oil, but that gearbox didn´t fail...
So it´s true but not worrying it seems, but i will be playing it safe and try to find syncro compatible stuff... i found motul motylgear, chevron delo synthetic and redline oil synthetic gear oil to be gl4 aproved...
Oil is in fact a very complicated subject... and i´m glad this doubt arised, it´s been pretty interesting research...
