SR20 motor will take 450ish WHP all day tuned correctly.. Transmission thats a diff story. Stock trans gets shakey around 280 WTQ depending on driving style and clutch less than that.. Using a heavier fluid will help but ultimately it comes down to the power..

B15 trans will take more around 400hp I think and I believe the 6 speed QR trans with 20v bell-houseing more than that but is pricey.

Thats all there really is to know, with that being said you can now search on any of the three transmission setups.

so to get my tranny to hold the 400whp what do i have to do, i dont think im goin to make that much power with the turbo that im looking but it would be a good idea once i want to upgrade just reinforce my tranny ..

change it, depends on your driving style also, some people decide to weld the casing to prevent that from breaking but you can also clean all the gears of 3rd gear. a b15 tranny should be stronger but people also mess up there 2nd and 3rd on those. honestly try with your b13/b14 tranny first, make sure its in mint condition, use good gl4 oil make sure all your mounts are solid and see. when i was making 300hp my tranny lasted a very long time until i decided to do a 2nd gear burn out, the burn went fine it was the shifting to 3rd right after. lol i cleaned all the gears of the teeth, but i had many spare stacks with messed up 5th gears i kept around just incase. lol i probably had the same 5th gear in about 5 trannies

When you get into that range there isnt much you can do. The b15/p11 trans is only slightly stronger but the shifting is not near as smooth as the b13/b14 trans.

I can tell you this. Use the valvoline 85w140 in the trans and it will last a lot longer i can gurantee you that. Its proven and its cheap. Shockproof or any of those other oils ive used did not compare.

If you live in a cold climate I would suggest to maybe do a mixture of 2-3 quarts of the 85w-140 and then a good synthetic 75w90 like mobil 1 or the valvoline full synthetic 75w90. That will help during cold weather and make shifting easier when cold.

But if you live in a moderate climate then straight 85w140 is fine. I used it in my car and temps down into the upper 30's and it was stiff but it warms up quick and its fine after that. Still had no issues shifting when that cold either. It was just stiffer but the gears all went in just fine.

Like ive said before, i went through about 4 gearstacks, 1 running an ACT Extreme PP w/ 6 puck sprunk disk and mobil 1 75w90, I went with a twin disk and broke one stack every month for the first 3 months, first stack i ran mobil 1 75w90, second stack, Redline MT90, 3rd stack Redline HD Shockproof, Put the 4th stack in with Valvoline conventional 85w140 and the stack went 9 months of abuse at even more power than the 3 previous stack saw. All stacks saw over 400whp daily, 500-550whp on race gas on some weekends and track runs. The trans is still being used in a buddy's car with over 350whp without issues. Again no changes to driving habit. The gears would always break on the street during hard quick shifts into 3rd or 4th, never just rolling onto the throttle in gear. I switched to the Valvoline and did multiple quick hard shifts on the street whereas before it would strip the teeth almost every time and it held up just fine to the torture. I use it in my 6 speed trans as well. Its a night and day difference over every other oil out there. Shifting is soo much smoother and especially at high rpm quick shifts. Trans is quieter during normal driving and you can just feel the cusion on the gears when you change gears and let the clutch back out. There is no banging or anything on the drivetrain whereas before you would always feel that jolt on the drivetrain.

So far everyone that ive gotten to switch to it has absolutely loved it and soo far not one broken stack. Coming from people that broke gears like it was cool before. Most all over 350-400whp, some in the 500whp range. So take it as you will but its been proven. Its not a gl-4 fluid either but it doesnt matter. Dont be worried about that. Its not gonna eat through syncros any time soon. Maybe over the period of 10 years you might have syncro wear from it but come on who cares.

I broke 3 P11 gear stacks prior to the switch!

I have had the same stack in the car now since last August and no issues since!

I'll never use anything else!

THANK YOU!
