turbo oil drain line
So my old turbo happens to have blown and as i took it out i realized that it had a broken oil drain line, so i ordered a new line for my t25 on ebay and now i see that it requires to change the plug from the block to fit the new line to the fittings it comes with.

My question is: should i add any type of loctide or something o that nature to the fitting going in the block or is there anything i should be on the lookout for or that i should know before performing this tomorrow

Its not under pressure but if you wanted to add some Teflon tape (white plumbers thread tape) that wouldn't hurt anything.

This is the line i got, it is too long i have to twist it around when i put the turbo in. Is this fine or do i need to find me another line that will go straight to the block from the turbo? If there is no pressure in this line im afraid the oil might stay in the line and never get to the block.

Oil needs to gravity feed to the block. That line is way too long.

yeah you need to find a shorter line or just cut the hose and shorten it. If its got a threaded fitting on both sides that is crimped onto the hose then you can cut the hose, get yourself a straight barbed fitting that size and clamp the two or do it the slightly more expensive way and find yourself the proper earls type fitting to match up to the turbo and cut the hose and install the new fitting on the end.

But yes it needs to be a straight shot down into the block with no kinks or places where the oil can sump.

Damn, this is a tough one then as both fittings (the block and the turbo) are pretty much right next to each other and the turbo fitting is pointing straight down while the block is kind of pointing up :x how about if i use a thin piece of metal let's say to kind of try to shoot out the oil to the block ?

That will work perfect

Switch the fittings out to stock again and use some high temp rubber/silicone oil drain hose. Pretty much good for the life of the car.

Hi Temp Rubber/Silicone Oil Drain Hose - 5/8" (-10 AN equivalent ID) : atpturbo.com

Do it right please.

Just use the factory solution.
