got some better hose to use for the bov and map sensor, and some clamps!

also relocated the map sensor per vadims advice.

and picked up some of this..

its not a full synthetic.. some folks frown on that.. but its like 11 bucks for a gallon jug and is the same brand as the stuff i've been running in this engine since i put it in 4+ years ago.. i asked ashton what he thought but didnt get a response.. if i shouldnt run this, chime in now before i do.. lol

i think so.. heres something i found from Kendall Super D XA 15w-40---BUY IT NOW!!!

Kendall Super-D XA 15w-40 with Ti (eXhaust Advantage) is a premium quality, synthetic blend, API CJ-4 engine oil developed for use in four-stroke cycle diesel engines designed to meet 2007 and later EPA on-highway exhaust emissions standards. Kendall Super-D XA 15w-40 with Ti is specially formulated to protect exhaust aftertreatment devices such as diesel particulate filters (DPF), diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems. Kendall Super-D XA 15w-40 with Ti is backward serviceable for use in pre-2007 diesel engines, and may be used in mixed fleets with both diesel and gasoline-fueled vehicles.

something else i found from The slippery business of choosing the right engine oil

You can use an some oils designed for diesel-use in a gasoline engine, but you can’t use an oil blended specifically for a gasoline engine in a diesel.

and another site.. http://www.autoparts2020.com/rsdev/part_group.jsp?PHPRJ_GROUP_ID=1396

Kendall Super-D™ 3 Diesel Engine Oil - Multigrade

Kendall Super-D™ 3 multigrade diesel engine oils are premium quality universal fleet engine oils specially designed for use in on-highway diesel trucks and off-highway diesel equipment, as well as in passenger cars and light trucks with either diesel or gasoline engines.

Applications:

On-highway diesel trucks equipped with EGR, ACERT or other technologies to meet today’s stringent low-emissions requirements.
Older diesel equipment with conventional, non-EGR engines.
Mixed fleets with both diesel and gasoline-fueled vehicles.
Off-highway construction, earth moving and mining equipment.
Farm equipment with diesel or gasoline engines.

and heres a discussion i found on a forum Is 15w40 oil for diesel the same as regular oil? - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

i've seen guys on the forum using shell rotella, which is a diesel oil aswell..

Whats it API rating? It should be on the bottle, if its not (and not a rating for gasoline engines) i wouldnt use it.
I think SM is the highest for gasoline engines right now.

.....................

if im reading this right... it has a SN rating which is for gasoline engines but it isnt the newest API standard.

been having an odd lean issue since i did the intake spacers, shit just goes lean as im cruising or stopped idling, so hit all hoses and connections with starting fluid, nothing showed on the wideband.. hit the thermal spacers and boom super pig rich.. not happy about this..

i sent an email to xcessive asking if theres some trick to getting the shit to seal.. we'll see what they say..

Changed the thread title, i figured it was about time, i've been turbo for over a year now and have already made several upgrades to the setup..

I also updated the first post a tiny bit.

now if i can just find this pesky load/rpm dependent vibration.. it just started yesterday after doing the intake.. no idea what it could be i've gone over everything short of taking the intake back off..

Keep in mind that long map hoses can also cause stumble issues, mostly when letting out of the throttle or on tip in.
