With draw through maf you should definitely recirc the bov you'll never get it to run great without.

Yah, first step is to recirculate that thing.

I agree that the bov needs to be recirculated but it doesnt explain the compressor surge. Im not familiar with this style bov but if it does have 2 springs, do what 91turboedser said and take the bigger spring out. My greddy would surge with both springs in it but it works great with just the smaller one.
