Ya the AFR is nice and smooth. I just hope the engine doesn't have fits with the 91 octane fuel. The timing is at the old timing mark, but the car pulls too hard... compared to what I've experienced in the past. I mean, seriously, it feels so much faster than the log setup.

This setup is going to be interesting on the dyno. That nice jump in power at 4500rpm will not be seen with these cams. Not that big anyway. But I am hoping the torque holds flatter to redline and makes a little more power. Seemed like the SR16 cams peaked tq early but didn't hold flat at all.

Check this pull out on 19psi iirc.

that is VET cams. Flat torque all the way out. I would like to see that again, but it prob won't happen.

Here is where the timing is set at. And this is the 5th out of the 6 lines on the pulley. Starting with -5, 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20*.

Yes, it looks advanced a bit eh?

I was startled to see when I first hooked up the gun at 1100-1200rpm and the timing was right at 15* holding steady. I put it in timing mode, lowered the RPM point to 800rpm. then restarted the car to get back into timing mode again. Timing was showing rock solid 15*, with a minor jump to 16* every 5-6 seconds or so. About as steady as I could expect.

Technically you should be able to spin the distributor back a bit with the car off, when you start it the ECU should adjust itself back down to 15*. This is why you have to enter timing mode when you actually want to change your base timing, otherwise the ECU tries to adjust it back.

it does look advanced, are you using camgears? and are you sure the car is warmed up and stuff when you checked the timing? I know theyre simple questions but... jus tryna help

Yes, the car was fully warmed up. Radiator fans would cycle, but I didn't time it during the cycle period.

When the timing was set dead center, the marks showed it at approx 10*. At slightly advanced, but not quite at the mark, it read 13*. At the mark, it reads 15*. As long as the second-to-last mark on the pulley is 15*, that's where it is.

I am not using cam gears. I have a set, but am not using them. This is with the cams straight up. Throughout all the years, even using the consult, this is where the timing has always been, when set to 15*.

Vadim is using a different bolt, but the timing on my car isn't advanced quite that far. If I put in a different bolt, like Mr V here, you can def tell that it isn't advanced as far as his car on 19*.

Hey V, just curious, if you put your timing mark at your 15* could you take a picture?

I changed my bolt to the same one V is using, for comparison. You can see that my timing is not as far. Also, keep in mind that I have a block, and head, that have been shaved down. This will retard the cam timing approx 1* or so.

Sure thing, I'll get some pictures after work. Mine is at 15* according to the Gspec V2 pulley.
