which is which. the red being the more desirable

red is the 1.06. VET cam/Log setup. Even going with a bigger housing on a bad engine still made decent power gains in the mid-range.

When going to the 2.0 cams you see another jump to over 400lbft. Then the SR16 cams make it jump to about 415-420. A couple more psi made 438wtq peak.

I think the 20V cams will make slightly less mid range. This is when boost and backpressure are closest. But I think they will make better top-end power with the extra lift, and less overlap with this particular setup. It is all speculation of course, until I dyno it.

@coheed:

i grinded the inlet area of my backhousing down for half an inch to enable a gas presure compensation between both channels. I dont have pictures but see this photo to explain what i did.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The effect was no improvement in knock but 400rpm loss in spool.
The main reason i did this is the fact that the4 GT3271 WG has only on of the two channels internally wastegated which is a bad construction in my opinion....
This leads to a rising boost pressure in the higher revs even with very soft WG-springs. I tried to improve this with my grinding to reduce the backpressure but it had almost no effect.

Finally i bought a new backhousing because my experiment failed

I wasn't going to grind that part out. I was going to grind out the part by the turbine. keeping pulses separate until the turbine, then grinding out the divider to ease flow. But I will just do that later.

I finished the hood pins, got the battery vented to outside of the trunk. I made the 225-45-15 RE01R potenzas fit the front by taking a hammer to the strut perch. They clear with approx 3mm to spare.

I didn't drive it yet. I still have to get the air/water working correctly. Gravity fed pumps suck because you have to bleed them like a hydraulic system. So I am going to reroute the lines so the reservoir feeds directly into the pump. This should help, but I really should upgrade the pump to something that will feed coolant.

I am still debating on a larger turbo. Maybe I'll focus on the way the car looks and runs this year. Next year with taxes back perhaps I can get a GTX35r or something.

What do you guys think about a twinscroll GTX35r with an extrude honed exhaust housing. Or I could put in some work on the GT30r and see what it gets me. I really don't like lag, so I may be stuck with sub 500whp levels with my tune.

Yes, the tune! It is a JWT computer. I know it leaves some on the table, but I am looking into options. right now, I really want to break 500whp on 20psi. That would be awesome! But it is likely going to take 25psi at least.

I would like to get the exhaust housing extrude honed to see how much that helps. The casting on the 1.06 isn't that great.

Coheed you got the 500hp JWT Upgrade or the Lightning MAF 700HP? for VE or DET?
