He doesn't want more spool/surge.

Right, but he is talking about reducing the amount of material on the divider. My thought was, why not do that and have a more consistent amount of material removed. Although, I am not familiar enough with extrude honing to know how much material would be removed.

Also, does that divider play a role in directing the exhaust flow to specific parts of the turbine? and if so would you want to mess with any radius or size of those passages to again effect spool/surge in a negative way?

The divider on a typical twin scroll setup doesn't direct the exhaust to a specific part of the turbine. It merely acts to maintain the pulse integrity all the way to the turbine blades.

I don't like the idea of grinding because it seems like it could be left uneven and effect spool in a negative way.

I did think about extruding it, but for $500 I will leave it as one of the last things. Not because I'm cheap, but I just don't know to what extent it may help, or if I am upgrading the turbo.

Well, I just finished installing the new master cylinder for the brakes. The 7/8 cylinder isn't that great with the Brembos, so I got a 15/16" cylinder from a Altima and slapped that in there. I have some new pads I was thinking about putting on. The pads that are on the brembos now are BrakeBest Select Import Direct pads from Oreilly. I don't know if it was the fact the master cylinder was small, but the pedal effort and stopping power sucks on these pads. They are listed as an OE pad... yea I doubt that.

I have a set of Duralast Gold pads that I think I am going to put on. I have Golds on my wife's car and I absolutely love them. Awesome stopping power. And I got some of the Cmax for the rear, they tend to wear faster than the DLG pads, but they have better initial bite. Since they are on the rear, I think it will work out.

I also have a set of pads for track days in mind, but what have you guys had good luck with?

I got some convoluted tubing to cover the wiring mess with. Gotta clean up the bay a little bit. I have been thinking really hard about getting a turbine housing cover and wrapping the downpipe as well. The underhood heat gets pretty high. Also, been trying to come up with a solution for my intake. Since I don't have one, the engine just sucks up the hot air from the engine bay. So I think I am at least going to get the filter out of the heat.

I have to install the cover for the bottom of the shifter assembly as well. Not having the weather-cover causes a nasty draft to come in the cabin. Couple that with open dump wastegates and you get a little 'high' on boost. And the damn heat shields under the car rattle like crazy. So i think I am going to recycle those. And since I am an old man now, I have to quiet the muffler a bit. Thinking of the vt mufflers or whatever they are. I am really tired now and I'm gonna stop rambling.

I actually just threw a set of Duralast Golds on my DD (gmc envoy ) They are great for the price. If you want to step it up to a different set of pads that are higher quality but also higher price, Akebono's are the way to go. Brembo is not the OE Nissan supplier for pads as far as all the one's that I have seen. Another pad I liked was the Wagner thermo quiets..... Not sure how they wear but the stop well, don't make a ton of dust... Not too sure on how long they last yet but I haven't seen any customers come back with any noise issues with those pads, how long they will last is still up in the air as I only started using them not too long ago.

I got 50k miles on my last set of DLG, and only 26k on my CMAX. To be fair, the CMAX were hammer on a bit more. They have a nice bite

The stock pads are $200 for the Brembos :ouch:

Thinking of getting this turbo blanket
T3 / T4 PTP Turbo Blanket / Turbo Heat Shield - Black | eBay

I hope it can clear the radiator. Got 1" of clearance from the turbo, so it will be a tight squeeze.

Yup. Pretty good brake upgrade if you don't mind switching hubs and stuff. The trans swap necessitated the different hubs, so why not go big?
