the vabnd they make for it fits a 3" pipe without issues or any modification. It is designed to be used on 2.5 or 3" downpipes.

trust me, I wanted to retain my 3" vband. In fact, I specifically ordered 3" vband. I was very specific on this, but i guess they don't make any other sizes.

I would recommend that anyone getting this turbo get the v-band in/out back housing. It's 2 1/2" in and true 3" out. It cost the same no matter what housing you get so you might as well get the best they offer.

Nice thing about the v-band in is that you can orient the turbo however you want to line it up just perfect instead having to have the flange just perfect. Gives you some play room. That and the v-band in is much smoother design.

I believe there was a test done on an evo 8 with the t3 .82 non v-band and .82 v-band housings. Everything considered the same. Pretty decent gain from what i remember.

I would love to do a complete Vband setup, exhaust housing inlet and outlet.

Got your turbo Coheed, only one thought comes to mind:

spool is about 5500-6000rpm. It feels awesome once you are passed that point. The power after 8k rpm is intense, and sends me bouncing the rev limiter. I can't "feel" when to shift like before. I was nailing the limiter before every shift because I never felt power drop off.

Car sounds sick, but the GT30r sounds better :P

The pull is very very smooth.

BTW my timing is retarded a bit right now for safety. I am not at the "line" I drew on the cap/dizzy.

So I presume I am at 12-13* base right now. Going to time it tomorrow.
