I thought about the 5857CEA. But I want the 500whp to come pretty easy. The 5857 is about the same size as my GT30r, just with slightly different wheels and different materials. Still, it is a better match to the VVL engine than the GT3076r.

The jump in power output between the new 6262 and 5857 is pretty big. I am just hoping to have GT35R spool, with more power.

I don't think there would be a very substantial difference in power between the 5857 and the 3076r until pushed to the limit. I don't want to push the limit of the turbo. I want to knock on the door of maxxing out the maf/injectors. Then tone it down for the street and have fun. I'll definitely let you guys know what I think about the new turbo. I bought it a week ago. So next thursday I should have it.

My guess is 340whp on 10psi. And 400whp on 14psi. This is a 40whp gain across each boost level. At 20psi I am predicting 450whp. And if I get a chance to try higher boost, I expect to nail 500whp on 24psi or so. Of course, boost levels are PSIG and not read from a MAP sensor. So expect actual airflow to be less because of the lighter atmosphere. I will be using SAE correction on the dynojet. Uncorrected numbers on the Dynomite.

Im gonna guess 20 psi will make 485whp, if a de can make 406 on 19psi there is no reason your ve with an even bigger turbo, better flowing manifold, and 1 psi more cant put around 485 down.

Cant wait for you to get it on. You should see 400whp by your 14 psi no doubt. If you havent already i would see about opening up that merge on the flange a bit more. Any pics after the porting.

no pics after the porting, but it looks better than that pic. I just posted that pic so you can see the collector. I thought the way they did the flange was interesting, but they did what they could with what they had at the time. Still, it looks a lot better now.

I made 400whp on 18psi with the SR16 cams with a little bit of timing and a little better fuel.

Anyone else have a guess to the power it will lay down? Here's what I am going to start with; advance the intake by 2.5* and advance the exhaust by 5*. This will get the intake cam back to where it was before the block was shaved, and the ex will be 2.5* advanced. That coupled with the turbo to see what it does.

I will say 500hp at around 21psi. The turbo is good for it. I want to see this happen. You been through a lot with this car it's time to see what it can really do.

Turbo looks like it is in SLC right now. Perhaps it will get delivered tomorrow? I will have the turbo installed on thursday if all goes well.

Did it come with the right size restrictor? or do you use the same one as the 30R?

You coming to the OH national convention?

I don't know yet if it comes with a restrictor or not. I planned on taking my restrictor out and running it open to see if it smokes or not. I think the return is large enough and the drain is straight down. I'll do some research on that real quick and see what I can come up with. I've used other bb turbos with no restrictor before and they did just fine.

I don't think you will need water to it either. The new BB precision turbos are suppose to be air cooled.

The new turbo has arrived! Going to put it on tomorrow, and dyno as soon as I can. Going to leave the cam gears where they are for now. Then, I will change the timing and dyno again to see the gains/losses.

Then, perhaps I will throw the SR16 cams back in and see how they perform in comparison, on the same cam settings.
