I thought about the 5857CEA. But I want the 500whp to come pretty easy. The 5857 is about the same size as my GT30r, just with slightly different wheels and different materials. Still, it is a better match to the VVL engine than the GT3076r.
The jump in power output between the new 6262 and 5857 is pretty big. I am just hoping to have GT35R spool, with more power.
I don't think there would be a very substantial difference in power between the 5857 and the 3076r until pushed to the limit. I don't want to push the limit of the turbo. I want to knock on the door of maxxing out the maf/injectors. Then tone it down for the street and have fun. I'll definitely let you guys know what I think about the new turbo. I bought it a week ago. So next thursday I should have it.
My guess is 340whp on 10psi. And 400whp on 14psi. This is a 40whp gain across each boost level. At 20psi I am predicting 450whp. And if I get a chance to try higher boost, I expect to nail 500whp on 24psi or so. Of course, boost levels are PSIG and not read from a MAP sensor. So expect actual airflow to be less because of the lighter atmosphere. I will be using SAE correction on the dynojet. Uncorrected numbers on the Dynomite.
