Yes, roughly 8.3:1

Cool.

Excuse my ignorance(again), but is there any reason why I can't use the VET piston in a DET? It is 86mm, right?

Yes its 86mm you can swap them right in. No probems.

hmm! This might actually be my plan as I'm getting the head and block cut straight so that will actually raise my compression, although I'm not sure by how much..maybe it'll get me close to 8.5:1 again?

Well, Greg says lead time on VET pistons is 2 months(8 weeks)! So that may be less of an option unless I can find them sooner.

Just an FYI for anyone planning on getting the pistons.

Now im realy looking into VE-t pistons . I see they have valve cuts can they be run with sr16 cams or do they need to be mechined more ? Also are these confirmed to be forged ? $60 is a very nice price for a buget build .

Should be fine with SR16 and N1 cams with them. You can look at them and plainly tell they are forged. lol. They look like really nice beefy pistons as well. The gap between the top and second ring is very large and should hold up really well if detonation does occur.

Sounds good to me ^ . I cracked the ring landing on my old stock ve-t set up so these should do darn good . I'll probably hang em on a set of forged rods and call it a day .
I cant belive how cheap they go for .
