Curious, has anyone used stock 20ve cams and came timing gears with 54c piston heads? I'd like to try to take some of that overlap out with the timing gears but not sure if it would be wise to try with the DET pistons

yes ill use eagle DE/T rods, and just use 86mm darton sleeves, no block or head work..

VET pistons with VE head would be 9.0:1 as advertised. It should be pointed out that the block and camshaft don't really make a difference when comparing compression ratios in this case.

Make sure VET pistons have valve relief or the N1 cams will make the valve tap the piston.

Secondly, are the above listed pistons 86mm or 86.5mm? I have a JDM RR which I am rebuilding and as mentioned previously, I currently have VET rods and pistons in my block. I changed my mind from going boost because the NA game seems to be more interesting in my parts. I was exploring pistons options and figured I would purchase another set down the road (and no, I don't want CP pistons, I am using ALL Nissan OEM items for my build).

This is what my build looks like thus far:
JDM RR block & crank
SR20VET Rods
SR20VET Pistons
ARP (Rod, Mains, Head) Bolts
ACL (Rod, Mains, Thrust) Race Bearings
SR20VE Head
N1 Cams
ST 100lb dual Valve Springs and Retainers
ST Valve Seals
SR20VE Metal HG

Thanks.

As far as n1 pistons go, they do not yield a higher comp than 16ve pistons
Just my opinion but, as far as pistons go I would get aset of cp's for NA use. Lighter, stronger and can handle detination way better

I'm pretty sure I got this correct, but I need to be 100% certain:
VE 9.0 pistons in DET RWD block + VE head = 9.0 CR ?
