I've owned VET pistons and I don't think they are forged. The dome is machined and it gives an appearance of forged piston(I'm not a metallergist so don't take my word for it) . I do think it's a better piston than the old DET.







The VET rods use 19mm wide bearings.

Has anyone ever used a VE head on an Avenir block and ran N1 cams without nicking a valve? I'm not sure if there is enough valve relief on the DET pistons if you run N1 cams

Det pistons are dished whereas ve pistons are domed the reliefs in the ve pistons are very small, I would think there should be enough clearance
