Yeah I do agree that if you already have the jwt getting an cheap emanage for for fine tuning is a good idea. I guess I phrased things not too well either. It's not a terrible unit, just not worth planning to do it from scratch. second hand ones might be a little cheaper and common over there too?

Coheed- I think that you should try a used e-manage on top of your jwt... You will still be obd2 compliant with the ability to tune timing and fuel. You will be surprised what something that cheap can do with your setup. Your power curve looks good without it but could be so much better with some fine tuning for your setup & altitude. You can get a used e-manage blue for probably a couple hundred bucks. I would seriously consider it. It even made good power on a vvl/log/t3 setup with a basic board tuned with the e-manage 7 years ago.

I will definitely consider it if I don't make the gains I want in the next few months. Next dyno day is a month off, and I am trying to get the car ready for that. I've got to relocate the battery and hook up the electronic boost controller. But the car needs new tires as well. But the radiator is in!

I figure the emanage would be a good setup for me as well. I'll def look into it. At least then I can tune for race gas and high boost. Right now, I'm just running off the base map and turning the boost up with some race gas in the tank.

You will not be disappointed at all.... I think that is the perfect option for you since you need to be able to tune to get the most out of your setup, especially with race gas. Without it you will loose out on so much power and response and the only thing you gain is piece of mind that you won't detonate as easily. I don't know why I didn't suggest this earlier. The first time I had did an e-manage set up was on my friend Nate's(exxd on the old forum) NX and later on when he went ve in N/A and ve/log mani/T3 super 60 and made great numbers. Neither of us had a laptop as they were very expensive back then so we had my pc with an extension cord out in my driveway to get a base setup, lol. He ended up getting a laptop so he could tune easier and on the dyno.

Kewels original post that I thought was silly was actually quite useful. Looking back over it I am sure this is how it was intended as well. In which case I do agree despite my previous objection.

but why by a ecu that u need to sent back to the company if u do changes to your setup down the road with a stand alone u make the changes when your setup to your car is done jwt is great for people who are sticking with a particular setup not for the person who like,s to try different things on there car

I wouldn't buy a jwt setup with the options out nowadays but it was the only way to go a long time ago unless you went full stand alone or safc. The safc on a stock ecu wasn't the best option and the stand alone cost alot of $$$$ and still does. For someone who already owns a jwt, the emanage or even the safc are good options to fine tune with. If you make big changes to your setup, the emanage is the best way to go since you can make many more changes.... Back on topic.................
