Yeah this is why I thought it was a bit stupid.

On top of that I think the emanage is a pos

just easier to start with a realtime.

You are entitled to your own opinions. I had this in my car with a stock ecu before there were any thoughts of a realtime board for our cars and it did everything i needed it to do. I then changed up my setup and it continued to perform great. It allows me to run 1600cc injectors with E85 with no issues so it can't be that bad, also i'm running a Z32 MAF and made well over 600whp. How is that possible? Because of that POS. I have tuned plenty cars with it with good results. Of coarse a realtime is a good start but if you already have a Emanage "and actually know how to set it up and tune it", you can make it work for you. No wonder why some people don't bother to post their setups on here. Any how back to the topic.

Sorry guys.

Agreed with everything you said.... I was using an e-manage back in 2002 when there were no realtime boards yet. I actually found it quite impressive for the time and it did make tuning very easy & changing set ups painless.

Dont get me wrong, Your setup is good. And you have put the time in to make it work. And some form of tuneable ecu is always good. And yes you bought the set up a while ago and have made it work so why change it now. But now there are many options like nistune that can be had cheaper are easier to tune and do all of what you said. If your starting from scratch why make life difficult?

Maybe the emanage and JWT path might be good option for coheed? As he needs to retain the jwt for emissions. I guess you could just unplug it for emission testing as its only a small plug that goes into the emanage

I think I phrased it wrong when i said he doesn't need a realtime. I meant to say that since he already has the JWT he could just run something to fine tune it. There's no doubt that the new realtime ECUs out there is the way to go if you want to make the most of what you have. I for one am interested in the Nismotronic software and will most likely give it a try but i'm keeping old faithfull close by just in case.

Everyone has a right to their own opinions. Thats being said i think the car in question will easily make 400@ the wheels.

I have tried a few different set ups ecu wise myself and have had good luck with jwt and an safc on top of it as well as a stock de ecu with an emanage blue on top. I still think it would be nice to have a jwt and an emanage on top for fine tuning. Mainly because the emanage blues go so cheap now and they have alot more adjustment than an afc. I have used both and had good luck with them either way.

I was going to go stand alone myself but i found an afc cheap and a jwt ecu with the program i wanted cheap as well so thats what i am running. No complaints here 11.5 is the leanest i have seen it get to running 17psi on pump gas with a forced performance 18g. My car pulls great makes boost very quick and gets pretty good gas mileage. My only complaint is not having an idle air control valve hooked up, which where i live is pretty much a must.

If i were to change i think nistune is a great option and one of the shops in town installs the boards and has a good dyno set up.

E manage is obviously doing it's job. 645 whp at 25 psi on very simple set up. Yupit's a POS alright. I just think that we shouldn't hate on something different. Yes there may be easier cheaper options but this is still a great option that works.

Props to you Kev for thinking outside the box. You own one of the nicest SE-R's I have ever seen and make a shit ton of HP. I can only hope my car turns out like yours.
