lol Mark, yes yours was the first post of this thread, thats why i said oh, Here we go again. haha But definitely not the first post bashing basic ecu's.

Again there are the goods and bads to each option out there. But yes the affordability of a very good tunable on site ecu is in a lot of ways too good to pass up but a lot of people already have the basic so they dont want to spend the money especially when on a basic simple budget build. So I cant blame them. The whole thing about that it is crap and doesnt work well is what gets me when that theory has been proved otherwise over and over again. Thats all im saying.

ashton what about 1/4 mile E.T? , this car which has a 160 shot of nos (40 x 4) 4 fogger system, tein suspension, soon straight cut gear kit and 4 slicks with 25psi of boost , it has a really nasty launch on 20 psi on street tyres already, blood rushing/cant lean forward kinda launch. Wonder with everything working crisp what kinda times it should do , full interior btw but still a crazy mofo.

my jwt was junk. id go with a tunable ecu. itll be a tune for you car and if its running like crap you can change it. and work on timing etc

and im not flaming just jwt. im flaming safc's. and any chipped ecu based off a "setup"

See, that's the beauty of running MAF over speed-density. Mass flow rate can be tuned to accept a lot of change in VE and still work amazingly well. That's why MAFs are better.

X amount of airflow = Y amount of fuel with Z amount of timing.

It's pretty basic, but it works really well on just about any setup out there. Just build in a margin for safety and you have a tune that is very versatile. Running a MAP sensor, you practically have to tune for every change you make. Any modification that changes the VE of the engine requires a retune or the timing and fuel maps get messed up.

I wasn't going to get involved in this but I'll add my 2 cents. I have a basic board done by Payu with a Emanage and my car runs great. Made 531whp on19psi and 640whp on 25psi at the P2R dyno day not to long ago. You don't need a realtime to make power but it makes life a lot easier. The Emanage uses a map sensor which allows me to tune off of boost and does timing and fuel, so it's similar to a stand-alone.

that comment is stupid as the emanage is the realtime

What is so stupid about it? I was referring to a realtime board. The emanage is a piggyback. We all know that and yes it tunes in realtime. Just showing options for some one with a basic board. Since the OP already has a JWT ecu. The only thing is that i'm sure that JWT ecu cost more than a basic board and the emanage put together. Realtime board is def. the cheapest route.
