I think i should stay with a heat range 6 plug.
Ive been running with the BKR7E plugs.
The left two are denso iridium heat range 6. The right are the NGK BRK7E's.
Put the denso's in this morning and ran great all day in the heat. Yes I know im comparing iridiums to coppers.

I love iridium plugs. I am running the GP platinum NGK heat range 6 in mine right now and they do work better than the coppers i normally run.

I would love to run some BKR7EIX plugs again, but they are too dang pricey. I'll stick to copper 8 range for race days.

With the amount of money you have put into your car, no spark plugs are pricey, lol... While I agree that copper will suffice, what is 20 bucks more on a set of plugs in the grand scheme of things

$6.99 per plug is what i get the bkr6eix for. the bkr7 are like 14.99 last time i bought them.

When you replace them every couple months, it is expensive lol.

You shouldn't have to replace them that much, but it is nice to be able to replace plugs for $3 a piece for a heat range 8.

Is the BKR7EIX the best plug money can buy? Is there any real need to gap Iridiums? I mean does it make a difference?

in my case, if i dont gap them, ill blow out the spark.

yes, a gap of .024" should suffice for most. I ran .032" up to 19psi without blowout, but that was probably just luck. Going over 19psi resulted in blowout.

But you can usually run a bit higher gap on the iridium and laser-iridium plugs.

Keep in mind that Denso heat ranges are different from NGK's.
