turbo choice
a friend had a frshly rebuilt garrett .48 turbo with receipt. he want 100 for it. i was looking at compressor maps and determined that at 6 pounds i would be in the 72 percent efficiency island. anyways, i was wondering if you guys thought this would be a good size turbo for my ga powered b13. iim not looking for huge power, just a peppy all around daily driver with no lag.

thank you,
pat

I mean its a good deal if your sure thats what you want, and a manifold for the GA and that turbo can be had easily and cheaply. I say that cause if your gonna want to turn the boost up ANY then your gonna have to upgrade and all that stuff you bought will be wasted money.

i have an ga turbo mani, sr ecu, maf, and injectors. i was going to run the stock sr parts on my ga with this turbo at 6 lbs. according to a couple threads, this should work. if it does, i will have built a ga16det for 250 dollars.

and i only want to stay at 6 lbs or less, as this is my first turbo set up/ build. i just want to learn and figure thing out on the cheap on my ga16 before i go sr20det.

what about a Garrett GT2554R, this should spool nicely be good fpr 270hp max. Or any stock DET turbo should be fine and cheap.
