I was just saying how I'm an idiot and remembered the torque spec wrong, so I torqued to 90-something. Way too high. And for a long time, I've been worried about them. So far, so good, but I wish I hadn't done that.
Also, the bolts are torque-to-yield bolts, so technically you should buy new ones every time. Once you torque them once they are not to be re-used.
However, you can get around that limitation by torquing a bit higher than spec. Maybe 75 ft-lbs if you're really in a pinch. A lot of us have done similar and not had any problems. Not the best way to do it though.
