tapping the block
have an sr20de that will be turboed. What's the best way to tap the block where the top fitting under the manifold goes. The bottom one's I can just drop the pan but i'm scared to drop shavings in the block on that one.

you need to remove the lower oil pan and the upper oil pan or else you will have metal shavings

I can reach the top coolant fitting through the bottom of the block?? it's just a passage isn't it? The blank just under the head is the one i'm referring to.

wait what are you trying to do?? tapping the block includes drilling a hole into the block which will be used as your oil return..the send oil to the turbo you need to but a T on your oil sending unit.

I see what you're saying, don't try to drill and tap for your water fittings. That would be way too much work.

Yeah, drilling for the water fittings would be a pain in the butt, and you'd have to ensure you flush all water passages to ensure you don't have any metal shavings.

All you need to do, is tee off the water lines for the throttle body, or remove the water lines all together from the throttle body, and divert them to the turbine.

If you are trying to tap for oil return, you can also tap just the lower pan too. Much easier and quicker.

^^ good idea..but im not sure if the oil pan is a thick enough metal to make a good seal with the tap, or would it?
