N1 cams + turbo?
a buddy of mine was wondering how the n1 cams would do with a turbo, i told him probably not very well, so i did some searching but only found 1 thread where a guy wanted to use a ve head on a det block with n1's and people said no because of the valves hitting the pistons with the n1's, but i found nothing about a sr20ve with n1's and a turbo..

TIA

Way too much overlap and duration for turbo. Even if you took out a decent amount of overlap with gears you would still run into problems with reversion even if you kept the back pressure down very low with a huge turbo setup.

SR16 cams work well with larger frame turbos and has been proven. Again making sure to keep backpressure lower and no higher than the boost level being ran. N1's are just too big of a cam for turbo use and will run into problems. There is a reason companies that make turbo specific cams or cams that are good for both such as the S4's and have their specs the way they do. To avoid issues.

I personally wouldnt use them. Not even try them. SR16 non n1's have been proven and exactly what im looking for so thats what im using on my setup.

lol i wish!

i been thinking about it for a while an my bud was like why take the cams out? just leave them. but i new there was a reason n1's wouldn't be right..

i think if anything i'll turbo the G then when its all set i'll swap the whole setup into the se-r then put the se-r engine in the G

I have N1's on my car and I love how the car feels but then again N1's are the only cams I have gotten run on my setup so far. In my particular setup they pull all the way to 9k.

My buddies Mazworxs built 2.2 came with N1 cams (RWD motor). He got the whole head package done from them too.

Josh that's it! Just get a Mazworx budget. Then you won't have to pull those cams to boost it.
