I have to agree on checking the cat and also changing that timing map. That map looks like crap. Past peak torque you should be able to add a decent amount of timing.

I hate turbo issues... but more often than not they get figured out and then you can't stop grinning. For what its worth, I hope you get it Mr. Russian SE-L Mang... I don't care if you have a p-chassis. You are always going to be covert russian se-l man to me.

Unless my knock sensor is bad, which it shouldn't be since I bought it brand new two years ago, I don't know if I can run more timing until I get the air issues resolved. Maybe the outside temperatures are the reason for such easy detonation.

I just bought a turbo blanket and will wrap the downpipe, hopefully that will help keep the temps down. Then going with radiant wrap for intake piping.

I hear ya Tokes, I felt like taking it all out this weekend and just driving the thing NA. I'm starting to feel like I'm hitting the same spot you hit with your egg. Just trying to keep it simple, hence I am avoiding a new manifold, even though I would love one.

No worries on the name! It goes better then Mr. Russian P Mang.

Little update, I drove today and watched the boost gauge and the RPM gauge. Boy was I wrong about spool times... It starts spooling at 4k rpm, and is building 10 psi at 5300 rpm. I borrowed a compressor and will doing a leak test. If it's not the piping leaking, guess it could be the valves or intercooler.

what bov are you using. If you have a boost leak Im betting its leaking from that. Looks like you have t-bolts all around so should be good as far as those go.

As for spool time that is really slow for a 50 trim sized turbo on a VE. Again timing will have a big affect on spool time as well.

Hope you get it figured out.

Its the log manifold. The VVL cams don't work with a log. Needs VET cams for log mani with .63 housing. Car is likely just as fast by not switching them at all.

VVL+ log+ stock cams = fail. Sorry to put it this way. But I know from experience.
