Looks like I am getting actual detonation... What can I clean these with to check for detonation again, carb cleaner?

his plugs are side gapped, which requires removing part of the tip.

yeah it looks like you are getting light detonation, and what were you seeing on the knock during that pull

Vadim, I would also suggest ditching the whole side gapping of the plugs. You take away a lot of your spark chances by doing that and have a much greater chance of spark blowout in boost.

Put a normal set of bkr7e's or 8e's in there, gap to .022 and be done. You will have a lot less ignition related issues.

Start with a fresh set of plugs, do the pull and recheck. If those are the original plugs that have been in there. They could have had those traces from who knows when depending on how clean of a burn your motor is getting which will be based on the tune. Judging by your gas mileage its running pretty well and nicely tuned. So those speckles could have been there from previous unless you checked them right before a pull then saw that afterwards.

So unless that was the case, throw a new set of plugs in there, dont side gap, gap to .022 and make a pull, shut car off and pull a plug or 2 and check.

Not good signs bro. Too much heat in that engine. Any other signs that this was occurring other than the plug-reading?

I really don't want to see your engine get hurt any more. It makes me sad

timing mark on the ground strap is too high up the plug, towards the threads. Looks like excessively high EGT or too much timing.

What's your guy's oil pressures like, seeing this thread, makes me concerned that it mine isn't there.

Mine is in the 10 psi at warm idle. About 40psi cruising in 5th gear (3kish rpm) at 70mph. I think the oil pressure does go up to 90 psi when I WOT it, and is nice and high on cold start.

I've had this plugs in there since I started this thread. I'm thinking I might need heat range 8's. I'll see if I have any new 7's and try doing some runs.

Besides the knock sensor readings not much more. Eh if the motor dies that will teach me to do too much to the car...

Timing mark? Is that where the black begins on the ground strap?

Also looks like I'm too rich at idle.

Spark plug reading
