Have you tried playing with the timing just AFTER cam switch?

You have certain people who have been doing these type of things for a long time. You have a person (Jamie) who is giving you some great advice and people are challenging it. (I am not saying you). That dude has done things that most of us have not even thought yet.

Also another thing is people making these type of builds way to complicated. Coheed I promise you the issues you are having are in your tune. Its not the cams or the manifold or the size of your turbo. I am not a great tuner. I just know the basics. Keep talking and Jamie. He will be of great help. If you are willing to listen he will help you.

Again I appologize. Let me look at the map you posted for a bit and if I come up with an idea I will post it.

Also about Gio's car. I just want to claridy this so people don't get info twisted. Gio's car was very very budget. He does what he can with what he has. He just puts thought into it.

Here is the set up.

SR20VE
DET pistons and rods
Homemade log manifold that was port matched
3 inch DP and Exhaust
Stock 2.0 VE cams
38 mm WG
FMIC

all tuned on one of his ECU's. Nothing special honestly.

Sorry man just gets me worked up when everyone always says your doing it wrong, or comments how xx mod was common knowledge, but never wants to share the details.

My setup is not far fetched from Gio's. I'm just on VE pistons honestly. I don't want to dish much more money into this car to make only a few whp more then what can be currently achieved.

I wish I had easy access to a dyno though, would be a lot easier to test and tune the various switch points and tunes. Right now I have to basically get the best running setup on the street, then after I have a list of things to check, I can hit up the dyno and see for sure. This is how I did the spark plug test, and the flow stack test. Otherwise I'm wasting more money on the dyno then on building the car.

Yup sure have, but I am blind for the most part, since the knock sensor is not able to tell engine noise from knock noise.

Jamie the numbers you gave don't sound to far fetched from what it seems like I'm pushing. I think it's close to 250whp on 12 psi. The difference is, I'm on a much heavier car then most people have here. Heck 230whp felt fast on my Sentra, but not on the g20.

I do have tunercode too, I guess i'm a bit too old school and rather play with the K value. What are your AFR's after you reach full boost?

Btw Rob, Gio made the 367whp with a stock VE (pistons rods etc) with an old turbonetics 50trim .48 backhousing and the log port matched. The det pistons came along afterwards with the 60-1. I currently am runnng around with his old 50trim on my VE/DE. Vadim honestly I would get the car on a dyno for at least an hour. You seem to be pretty capable with your ecu, just make sure your car is mechanically sound and pretty much all you should mess with is fuel, timing, and activation. Hoping the best for you.

Btw Gio's car is his daily, ac ps airbags, all the options plus his ice and sound suppresor mats. Car is heavy as hell for a b13.

On my 50 trim setup with a log manifold and a 2.5 inch dp I was running the stock Vvl pistons at the time and it made 36$ whp.
When I upgraded to a 60 mm I swapped out the pistons but was always running 2.0 cams, I momentarily ran sr16 cams but the midrange was gone and I could not tune the car because I was running a jwt at the time so I sold them and went back to 2.0 cams.
As it is now I just did my friends car a Vvl with a log manifold and it making good good power with more to go.
And as far as my car being gutted....lmao. The only time I took things out to race was when I was all motor, and what I would take out would be my spare and the speaker box. I don't hassle gutting, I let the power and driving do it's work. I race full interior with my daughters car seats and my bass.
Heck I don't even like to be lowering the tire pressure18-20 psi is the lowest I've gone.

Not hating, but that is common sense.

My car is not a race car, just a simple street car that does ok at the track. My wife even drives my car from time to time. Street disk hd pressure plate. My car from 2000-2008 was seeing 17-19 thousand miles a year and alot of racing.

I don't see anything wrong with the car, open back up your spark plug gap. There is no need your not pressurizing the cylinders enough for that and just Dyno, it will tell you everything you need to know if you know what your looking for. I never went by those knock device things, I just Dyno and read plugs and feel the engine for any noise and or hiccups.
Big ups to the northeastern boys.

Oh yeah one more thing I also tried dialing out overlap about 6 years ago, made for a lazy spoolup.
The dyno computer crashed years ago. But I did a de/ve with a t-25 with a upgraded front wheel only and at 14 psi it made 321 whp internal gated. Vvl's are nice motors but many of you guys are getting to technical with them.

That turbo does not seem to big. I bet it is the tune. I know your car is FWD but most fwd sr20det 240s here in Florida are using 6262 precision non BB turbo making serious power with stock bottom ends I do not think it is your turbo

GIO^^ also tuned my boy stock sr20ve with a gt3076r and made 36XWHP @ 12.5PSI, when the car came in it was making barely 200whp @10Psi lol and with gio magic touch that car woke the F-up lol.

I believe the small T3 car made 220-230hp at 9 psi on stock 2.0 cams swicthing over at 4400rpm when it was all said and done. It was an interesting timing map it liked, but it worked and worked well.

The latest one a few weeks ago on a log/ t3/to4e 57 trim on stock cams made 285@ 15psi on a 90-95 degree day and 311 at 17psi with a 110/93 mix. Again on a bone stock VE long block.

Damn those numbers seem low my old sr20det w11 jwt ecu 3inch DP and mandrel bend exhaust (bought from andreas) made 249whp and 247tq @8psi.
I also ran a 13.1 @108mph slicks so that showed me the numbers were accurate. mph and times wise.

My buddy 240sx sr20det with a 50 non BB made 37Xwhp at 18psi tuned with a safc lol I have vids and dyno sheets also vids of him racing with his old factory POS t28 setup that made 285whp to his 37Xwhp ijs FWD should make a lil more since there is less drivetrain loss.
