Decided to take my heat temp gun out and measure some temperatures. It was around 90*F today, I drove the car for a while, then while idling started taking temperatures.

Someone got their moneys worth with that tool.

the temp of the radiator sounds low.
Isnt the coolant normally ~ 190F, id think the radiator would be around that.

No, its not low, It all depends on where in the cycle the thermostat is. If the t-stat is open then you would have 190 deg coolant coming into the radiator. He probably measured coolant that had been cooling for a bit before the t-stat opened. Your coolant temp is measured in the head which is the last place it goes after going through the entire motor. You will see ups and downs in radiator temp depending on the cycle.

with my electric pump, no t-stat and flexalite fan on all the time even in the middle of summer time i can put my hand on my hoses upper and lower, and radiator and it just feels warm to the touch. Meaning my cooling system is very efficient. And thats after some hard pulls 20 psi of boost in 125 deg outside temps. lol.

This is why I love my water/meth injection

Havent seen you post for a while. Did you ever get your intake manifold on or what??? Any more testing done?

Cool tool Vadim. How long did it sit and idle while you took those pics? Just curious how much time elapsed allowing heat soak to set in.

Also, where did you get that tool from and how much was it?

Was the hood closed until it got up to full temperature?

I drove the car like a real man for about 30 minutes, then got home and kept it idling and spent about 10 minutes with temp tool. Ac on temp took about 2-3 minutes to get that hot.


Its a $30 tool, your local hardware store will have it.
